Upsetting news during this time of joy

My young cousin was admitted into Primary Children's last Thursday. His name is Luke and he is such an amazing and sweet little guy. On Thursday he came home from school and told his mom that he couldn't see out of one eye. She took him to his doctor who sent them up to the hospital. He has been there for 4 days now. They have run all kinds of tests. They have done blood work and an MRI, a CAT scan, a spinal tap, and they can not find out what is wrong. They have thrown out suggestions such as, a brain tumor, M.S., an immune problem, a brain injury from a fall, and several others. They are not sure he is going to be home for Christmas or if he is going to have to spend it in the hospital, but I would like to ask you all to keep him and his family in your prayers. I just hope that they can all spend Christmas at home together as a family. They really truly need and deserve that this year especially. It has been a really tough year for this wonderful little family. I love you Lukey!

Just imagine

My son has an imagination like nothing else. He likes to lay a blanket out on the floor and pretend it is a swimming pool. It just cracks me up sometimes, some of the things he comes up with. He will run around the living room dribbling his imaginary basketball, I am always the coach and I have to blow my whistle and call timeouts. He also loves to pretend he is the fix-it man, a firefighter, a mailman, or an explorer. I love it when he pretends he is a daddy and he has to change his baby doll's diaper, he actually makes me give him a wipe and then when the baby is hungry he feeds it an imaginary bottle. I know all kids use their imagination, but Grant takes it to a whole new level. Sometimes I think he truly believes we are hunting dinosaur in our backyard or he is playing in the NBA with Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer. He tells me all the time "I love to use my imagination Mom" Whatever it is we are doing Grant is imagining it at another level. Just last night we were painting little wooden ornaments that I picked up at Joann for 50 cents a piece, but we weren't just painting, we were amazing artists. And when we were done and we went to hang them on the Christmas tree we were really hanging our masterpieces in our art museum. Where does he come up with this stuff?
I love it. I love that he is so creative and he loves to pretend. He is a great THINKER. His amazing little 4 year old mind just blows me away. I hope that he will always imagine and pretend and and think outside the box.

I did it... my fault!

So I was playing around with my blog and I deleted everything but the actual blog. So it will probably take me a few days to get it back up to speed. Hang in there with me.

By the way I am so mad at myself for doing it.

Just a quick cute post

Tonight Grant said something I thought was cute (dont remember what he said), but I said to him, "Oh Grant you are too cute!" And his witty reply was, "Just doin' my job Mom!"
He is so silly and makes me laugh a million times a day. It's like being silly and making me laugh really is his job. Lately he has really been my saving grace!

NO SURGERY

We are happy to announce that Grant will not be going in for surgery tomorrow. We got a second opinion and have decided against the surgery FOR NOW! I am pretty upset about some of the circumstances surrounding the whole ordeal, so I dont want to talk about it right now.

Surgery or not?

I took it upon myself to do a little research on the Internet about this adenoidectomy that my baby is supposed to have next week. I printed out a bunch of info that I found and shared it with Jared. After discussing it we decided that we wanted a second opinion. So Grant has an appointment Wed. at 3:00 to see a different doctor. We did not cancel his surgery on the 9th, because depending on what this new doctor says we may be still going through with it as planned. I will let you all know what the new doctor says and what the verdict is on the surgery! Thanks again for all your well wishes!
