DREAM COME TRUE!!!

Sometime last week I entered a contest through utahwordofmouth.com and KSL Studio 5. It was to win a scrapbook room makeover this weekend at the scrapbook expo. I had to write an essay and submit a picture of my scrapbook room. Well on Friday I got a call telling me that my essay was chosen as one of the five finalists. Then they picked five more names out of a box at the expo on Saturday. I had to go to the expo and play this "make a deal" game. First the ten finalists chose numbers to see who would go first and second and so on. I chose #6. So as each lady went up and didnt win the grand prize I got more and more nervous (and excited) I could not decide which number of purse to pick so I had Grant choose. He chose #1 and he was right! I was so excited and shocked I cried, and then called my mommy!
So the prize includes new paint, carpet and custom cabinetry! I will update you all on how the makeover goes! I cant wait to get started!

So excited!

Tonight we are going to see Disney on Ice Mickey and Minnie's Amazing Journey! There will be a whole bunch of different characters, not just Peter Pan or Little Mermaid. So that will be neat. I have wanted to take Grant for a long time, but I was never really sure if he would love it or not? Well this time I decided, what the heck, if he doesnt love it then we know not to ever go again. We even got Jared to agree to go with us! YAY! He doesnt really enjoy things like this but he does love to spend time with me and Grant! We got great seats, row 3 right smack dab in the center. So that will be good. I will be sure to take lots of pictures and post some! I am so excited!

CONTINUED from the post below!

My daddy and his lil monkey!

Papa and his monkey!

A lot of people like monkeys, right? And a lot of people call their kids monkeys from time to time, right? Well this is my super duper cute lil monkey. Actually if we are going to be honest here, this is PAPA's lil monkey. Sure, monkeys can be cute but I never really had a fascination for them, until my son was born. I think probably even before I had Grant while he was still in my tummy, my daddy started calling Grant his monkey, and to this day he still does! I love it! For any of you who know me real well you will know that I am a very sentimental person. I have not taken this to the extreme, but I do have to say Grant has a lot of stuffed monkeys floating around my house, and I probably bought them all. And by the way, have you ever wondered why my Email address is what it is?
There are a few other people who call him monkey from time to time (I call him my little love bug) But my daddy definitely stated it and will probably call him that for a long time to come, which is perfectly fine by me!
Thanks for being such an amazing Papa to my only son! I truly think every boy needs a Papa just like you to play pla-doh with and watch sports with and play candy shop(and pay eighty hundred dollars for one piece of candy) and take him camping and fishing. I could go on forever! I adore the way Grant looks up to you and though he is sometimes stingy with his hugs and kisses you know he loves you to pieces! He talks about you all the time! And is always looking forward to your next sleepover together!

I took the boys to the aquarium today and we had a lot of fun! I am really loving only having the two boys. We are able to do some fun things. And I cant wait for the warm weather so we can go for walks and go to the park. It was way busy at the aquarium, but we really enjoyed the new exhibit. If you havent been to the aquarium in a while you should go. It is a great time for not much $$

Bend it like Beckham

Jared and I always used to talk about how we couldn't wait until Grant was old enough to play sports. Well the time has come and I can not believe that he is so grown up. It is so crazy to me that my baby is almost 5. Anyway we have signed him up for soccer and I am so excited! I am going to be a great soccer mom. I always loved to watch Brock play in little league and high school, no matter what sport it was! So I cant wait to watch my little love bug play sports for the next 13 or more years. Grant is really into all sports and has a huge love for baseball. I cant wait til he starts playing baseball. I am actually looking forward to watching him play any and all sports he wants to. I know Jared is really excited too. If anyone would like to come watch him play a game just let me know and I will give you details on when and where! He would love to have more fans than just mom and dad and Papa!

Watching Uncle Brock play. Go Jordan!

Heaven confussion?

Yesterday Grant asked me, "Mom when people die and go to heaven, where do they pee and poop?"

After thinking about how I should respond, I gave him my answer and he didnt seem to be satisfied with that answer, so I did what I usually do when my answer is not good enough, I said "Ask your Daddy! He is a very smart Daddy!"

And it's funny Daddy's answer always seems to be good enough! I absolutely adore the way Grant looks up to and beleives in his very AWESOME Daddy!

I just absolutely love my boys and I wouldnt change a thing right now! We truly are so blessed to be such an incredibly happy little family!

We are just really excited for spring to be here! We are sick of the cold and wind. We just want to go outside and play all day! But today it was very windy and we were bored so we went to JoAnn and I let Gant pick out something to do. This is what he picked and we had a lot of fun doing it! He was in charge of the right half of the roof and Mommy did the left half. And dad did the other side!

Long lost friend

When I was working, my mom watched Grant for me during the day. She runs a daycare out of her home and has for about 27 years. She also watched a little boy named Mason who is a couple months younger than Grant. Well since my mom hasnt watched Grant for a long time and Grant and Mason both went to school, we havent seen or talked to Mason or his mommy for a long time. Grant has been asking me about Mason for months, much more often recently. He always says to me, "Mom, I am sad because I miss Mason." So I finally got Mason's phone number from my mom and discovered that Mason lives about 4-5 minutes from our house. (We are thrilled) I texted Jamie and asked her if we could come get Mason on Saturday and take him to do something fun with Grant. Boy am I glad I did, and that we are now back in touch with Mason, Jamie, Ryan, and Olivia. They are such an amazing family and Jamie is awesome. We will definitely be getting these cute boys together more often and we cant wait to see them again!
