Family night (but it's not monday?)

Went bowling, as you can see from the pictures below. It was alot of fun! Grant absolutely loves to bowl. And he bowled a 107! Holy Shit! That is pretty good for a 4 year old. Maybe he is taking after his dad. Jared really thinks he could be a professional bowler. Don't get me wrong he is pretty darn good but he has seriously expressed to me that he would like to quit his job and become pro bowler. What a geek! Gotta love him!My PRO bowler husband!

Preschool

Well we registered Grant for preschool today. We have been looking at and researching preschools in the area for a few months now. We (this means me. I did all the work and made the decision and Jared just went along with it)decided on a really neat place called Corner Canyon Academy. Grant will be going m/w/f for 2 1/2 hours a day. One thing I really like about this school is that they really focus on reading and phonics, which I think is so important. Another thing they work are life skills and I think that is also a great asset to have. I am so excited for Grant to start this new experience but I am also very nervous. I guess he might be a little sheltered. He has really only ever gone to my mom's (if you don't know she does have a daycare in her home) Other than that he has a stay at home mommy and he is an only child. He is very laid back and sometimes he lets other kids take advantage of him. We have tought him that is not acceptable to be mean or to hit, usually he is very good at remembering that, even if he is being picked on. He is definitely not a wuse but I dont want him to be picked on. I want this to be an incredible experience for him. I really hope that he can love school. And I pray that he likes to read. I have always loved to read and hope that he can too. Another thing I worry about is things like feild trips, I am a little over protective I guess. Jared says I am just too controlling and that might be part of it too. But isnt it natural for a mommy to worry about her kids, especially since he is my only one and he is going to be out in the world all on his own. He is a curious little guy and sometimes he wanders off.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I am feeling so many things about it right now. I am a little sad that my baby is not a baby anymore, but I am also so proud of the little boy that he is becoming. Over all I think that when Grant starts school he will hit the ground running and not look back. Most of all I am just so excited to see what lies ahead for him and for us as a family. We are definitely looking forward to the future we are going to share.

Sunday July 6

We were invited to John and Jamie's for dinner on Sunday and it was a lot of fun! Thanks J&J!!! Grant and Alex had a lot of fun playing together and of course I held the baby almost the entire night. I brought an Asian chicken salad but other than that I was absolutely no help. Grant and Alex ran through the sprinklers and here they are taking a little break for a minute!

Grant working on his golf swing!

Jared holding baby brother (Max) He is almost as baby hungry as I am!

And might I add Max was so content all night long, except when he got hungry and then he chowed. Other than that he just slept in my arms all night and cooed. He is so dang sweet! I tried to talk Jamie into just letting me take him home but of course she wouldnt let him go. LOL Can you blame her?

My birthday was on Saturday! I am now 26 years old. 26 sounds so old to me. I feel like I should still be 21 or 22. It doesn't seem like that long ago that I got married or had Grant. It is just crazy how time flies.
Well the day started out pretty fantastic. I told my family a couple weeks ago that all I really wanted on my birthday was for all of us to go to breakfast together. So we went to Ruth's and it was delicious. We sat out on the patio and it was very nice. It was all that I expected it to be. After breakfast we decided to go to the zoo. Unfortunately while we were there I started not feeling well. We rode the new carousel and the train and saw about half of the animals when I decided we needed to leave. I was just really not doing good. So we came home and I pretty much slept the rest of the day. My sweet husband kept checking on me to see if I needed anything, but other than that he let me sleep while he occupied Grant. It sucked that I wasted the day not feeling good but at least I got a family breakfast like I wanted! That made me happy!

July 4

This is the birthday cake my mommy makes for me every year. It is just yellow cake with pudding on top instead of frosting and then fruit on top of that. I love it!Brock and Grant! So cute! This was Grant almost the entire time we were lighting fireworks. It was funnyThe family!
