Football season ALREADY???

Well football season is upon us again. And, to say the least, during football season football consumes my husbands entire life. So here is the team breakdown around here.
Si nce I can remember I have always been a fan of the Utes and it will always stay that way. I will never switch to the dark side, that being the school down South, BYU.
My husband on the other hand is one of the biggest BYU fans you will ever meet. YUCK!!! Not sure where I went wrong? 'nuff said!

He is also a huge Redskins fan. I dont really have a fave NFL team. But if I had to pick it would probably be the Rams, only because that is my Daddy's team.

And last but definitely not least Jordan High school Beetdiggers! We love them and fully support them, well little league mostly. Jared and I both went to Jordan and are true Bettdiggers. We absolutely loved going to games on Friday nights when BJ played. Now we love to support BJ as a coach of the little league Juniors. He coachs the kids that are freshman and will be playing on the high school team next year and he loves it. Also Jared's cousin's son Talon plays little league for Jordan too, and we love to support him as well.
So football seaon is very busy around here and gets quite crazy with the rivalry sometimes! It is fun though!

Healthy new treat!

Tonight when we went to the grocery store we were in the produce section and Grant asked if he could have a green pepper. I absolutely hate peppers whether they are red, green, yellow, or orange so I am sure that Grant has not had many peppers in his 4 short years, simply for the fact that we dont really ever have them in the house. Grant is usually always willing to try new things at least once, which I am very grateful for. So I thought why not let him get one and see if he likes it. It was cheap so I didnt really care if I had to throw away the whole thing if he didnt like it. When we got home I cut it up for him and he loved it! Of course he couldnt eat the whole thing so I split it up into 4 little ziplock baggies with a few pieces in each bag and then put them in the fridge. They are a great little snack that he can just go get out of the fridge and eat when ever he wants. I love finding new healthy things for Grant to eat, that he likes!!!

Good Recipes!

I am sick of the same old things over and over. My little family has our faves and that is mostly what I make every week. BORING!!! So I am wondering if any of you have some good, quick and easy recipes you could share with me? What are your family's faves? Help a girl out here!

Star Wars Trooper guy thing

So some of you may remember a previous post about some Star Wars toys my son thought he HAD to have. Well I broke down and took him to Walmart and this is what he picked out.

*** As a side note: If you havent figured this out by now, Grant ALWAYS gets what he wants eventually. I think it has something to do with the way I was raised, but I am a complete sucker for him and I give him ANYTHING he wants!

With that said, I think he is a pretty cute little Star Wars Trooper guy thing? Just kidding, I cant even pretend like I know what I am talking about cause I dont! He loves this thing though. He wanted to sleep in it. Luckily I talked him out of it. It was really cheep though and poorly made so it already has a huge rip in it. Oh well he still loves it!

AMAZING

This movie was simply amazing! Awesome! I loved it! I set the bar high before going to see it but it was so much better than I expected! If you havent seen it yet what are you waiting for?

I think Heath Ledger was an attractive man! In my OPINION, he did not intentionally kill himself but I do think that he knew that there was a risk of serious consequences with all the "medication" he was taking. And obviously it could have been prevented. It makes me sad because he was such a great actor and I feel bad for his little girl.
Throughout the movie I just kept thinking to myself Wow He is GOOD!

He played this part SOOOO good! Simply AMAZING! The Joker was by far my fave character!

I want to see it AGAIN and AGAIN!

The Batmobile was also way cool!
And I loved the way it turned into this way cool bike!
This movie is a CANNOT miss! Even if you arent into THE BATMAN!
I LOVED IT!!!

A well deserved night out!

Jared got another bonus from work on his check this pay period so we decided that we would go out on a "date" We haven't been out alone for a long time. We love to spend time together as a family so we always take Grant with us anywhere we go. That is the way we prefer it because we all enjoy each others company so much. But sometimes you just have to go out on your own on a "date" right? So I recruited Maama to watch our little man for us. We are going to go to dinner at Jared's very fave bbq place (he loves the ribs there. They are to die for)
It's called Good Wood and it is located in draper. If you live in Utah you really should give it a try, especially if you like bbq. Prices are comparable to Sizzler or Outback Steakhouse. Check out the menu http://www.goodwoodbbq.com/Goodwoodframed.htmAfter dinner we are finally going to go see Batman!!!! YAY!!! I am super excited! Hopefully I am not setting myself up for disappointment? I'll let you know how it is!

I LOVED the 80s

You Are 72% A Child of the 80s

Not only did you experience the 80s... you are practically an expert.

You should be totally stoked!

My brave little man

I took Grant man to the Dr. today. He had to get caught up on his immunizations before school starts. He had to have 5 shots. FIVE! All at once. I felt so bad. I didn't want him to be surprised when the MA pulled out all those needles so I explained to him in as much detail as possible exactly what was going to happen. He really does better if he knows what is going on. We went back in the little room and she had all FIVE needles sitting right there and all FIVE band aids all lined up ready to go. She had me pull down his pants and while I held him on my lap she had me hold his hands down so that after the first 2 or 3 shots he didn't grab his leg. She was actually really sweet she told Grant to be brave and it would all be over in a minute and it was. She was very quick and very good. He whined a little but not one tear. Five shots and NOT ONE tear. I was so proud of him. So on the way home we stopped at the dollar store and I let him pick out a toy. I am sure he will take a really good nap today. He always does when he gets shots.

My most fave BOYS!

This is my new fave pic. I love this picture because these are my two most favorite boys EVER! Jared is my most favorite MAN! How cute are these boys though? Grant just loves his uncle BJ and we love to go and watch him coach football. I really miss the days when we used to go watch uncle Brock play football under the Friday night lights. So this is fun as well (just not as fun)

Yee Haw Cowboy!

For my birthday last month my sweet baby brother bought us all tickets to the rodeo up in Heber. It was this weekend and for the past month I have been looking forward to it. I was way excited because I love rodeos (in my next life I am going to be a rodeo queen) and any time spent with my very busy brother is time well spent. Since he started working so much and coaching football we don't see each other as often and I miss him. Anyway we all drove up there together and the ride up was a lot of fun. I dressed Grant all cute, like a little cowboy, hat boots and all. He looked so cute. When we got there they were selling stick horses at the gate and if you bought one your child could participate in the stick horse race, plus all proceeds were going to local cancer victims, so of course we were all over that.
My little cowboy!

Waiting for the stick race to start. I am so mad the pictures I took of the actual race didn't turn out.
I know this is a crappy picture but they were giving all the kids in the race a hat and bandanna. So here is Grant with all his stuff on. Look at his cute boots. REAL cowboy boots! They also had a really great fireworks show after.
My silly little bro. We had so much fun together! I just love this kid so much and I Cherish every second spent with him!
Jared and I decided that we want to go to this same rodeo again next year and we are going to make a full day out of it. There was a fair going on at the park right next to the rodeo grounds so we are going to go up and do the fair during the day and then the rodeo at night. I am really looking forward to it even though it is not for a whole nother year!

STRANGE

1strange \ˈstrānj\
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): strang·er; strang·est
1 not native to or naturally belonging in a place : of external origin, kind, or character2 a: not before known, heard, or seen b: exciting wonder or awe 3 discouraging familiarities

Strange is the only word I can use to describe my sons sleeping habits. For example:

* He has to flip his pillow over every minute or two until he falls asleep.

* He has to have a pillow with a pillow case. If he is sleeping on the couch or something he can not sleep on a throw pillow because it doesn't have a pillow case.

* He has to play with the pillow case. Which is most likely why he insists on having one. It is hard to explain unless you have seen him do it but he puts his hand in the pillow case or wraps it around his finger in a certain way. He has done this since I can remember.

* He walks in his sleep. Almost EVERY single night. Sometimes it is hilarious and sometimes not so safe. I've got stories!

* He talks in his sleep EVERY single night without fail. I can have a full on conversation with him while he is asleep. Some of the things he says in his sleep just blow me away! I will have fun with that as he gets older.

* He can get up, go in the bathroom, get on the toilet, go pee, pull up his pants, and get back to bed all by himself, all while asleep. Usually he needs assistance but I have seen him do it by himself. Very talented kid, he is! I can always tell if he is actually awake or if he is sleep walking.

* On top of all of this he also has horrible night terrors, but that we will save for another post.

Early morning excitement

Ok so this morning I am sitting at the computer checking email and blogs and other REALLY important stuff. Grant is in the living room get his morning fix (Backyardigans) Now I am rolling my eyes that even just typed that! Anyway lately when he wakes up he plays this game where I ask him (several times) what he wants for breakfast and he tells me (several times) that he is not hungry. As soon as I get doing something or dare I even sit down for two minutes, then he decides he is starving and he needs something to eat RIGHT AWAY!!! So we have already played the not hungry part of the game today and as I am sitting at the computer. I am just waiting for him to come to me with his breakfast order. All the sudden he comes just running in screaming at me "Mom Mom I have something very exciting to tell you!!!" Seriously his eyes were huge and you could just see the excitement in his face! So talking about a hundred miles a minute he says " I just saw a commercial on the TV and guess what it was?" He is not even letting me answer him or get even a word in " It ... was.... Starwars toys!!! Can you believe it Mom? I want them! I want the whole set! Where do you think we could get them?" Still he is talking so fast I dont have time to even answer him. SO MUCH EXCITEMENT! " Seriously mom! Do you think we could go to Costco or maybe Walmart. Oh how about Albertsons? I want all of them! Will you buy them for me?" At this point I am just cracking up at him. So all the sudden he stops and looks at me with this look that could kill and he says " Mom this is not funny. This is a very serious matter. I NEED those toys. And I cant figure out where we can get them. Do you think you could help me out?" It was like it was a life or death matter. I didnt even know that Grant was into Starwars? He has never really shown any interest before now but aparently he needs those toys (which he will not get, by the way)(I know I am such a mean mom, but he has too many toys as it is) I just thought it was so funny! Kids are crazy!
