My brave little man

I took Grant man to the Dr. today. He had to get caught up on his immunizations before school starts. He had to have 5 shots. FIVE! All at once. I felt so bad. I didn't want him to be surprised when the MA pulled out all those needles so I explained to him in as much detail as possible exactly what was going to happen. He really does better if he knows what is going on. We went back in the little room and she had all FIVE needles sitting right there and all FIVE band aids all lined up ready to go. She had me pull down his pants and while I held him on my lap she had me hold his hands down so that after the first 2 or 3 shots he didn't grab his leg. She was actually really sweet she told Grant to be brave and it would all be over in a minute and it was. She was very quick and very good. He whined a little but not one tear. Five shots and NOT ONE tear. I was so proud of him. So on the way home we stopped at the dollar store and I let him pick out a toy. I am sure he will take a really good nap today. He always does when he gets shots.

Wow! I have been to many health fairs doing seated massage. I have watched many ADULTS getting shots or their finger poked for tests and were quite whiney. I am proud of him too!

GAH! I hate shots. I especially hate having to be the bad guy holding my boy down while someone is sticking him with needles. What a brave guy he was!
