Workin' hard!

I am working on a graduation scrapbook for my little bro. Can you believe little BJ is graduating? He actually graduated a whole half a year early, so he has been out of school for a while now. I am so proud of him. There was a short period of time last year when I thought that he might not make it through. I obviously, regretfully, underestimated him. Anyone who knows him knows that he is just AMAZING! He is my baby and always will be. He is one of my bestest friends and I hope he knows how proud of him I am and how much he means to me!
I am also working on a scrapbook/autograph book for Grant's birthday. This is something I do every year. And this year I went a little over board but it is turning out nice. I am excited about it. Maybe when I get it done I will post pictures.
Gotta go get back to work!!!

Has anyone noticed?...

I am now completely addicted to the blogging since I found the wonderful world of blogging. Oh my goodness. And if you are reading this I am probably addicted to your blog as well as mine!
Anyways I cant sleep and these are some of the things going through my head at the moment...

Where can I get a custom cake in Salt Lake?

How am I going to throw my son a Salt Lake Bees baseball party without infringing on any copyright laws? LOL

How am I going to mix my Fam and Jared's Fam and make it a happy environment?

Do I really care if anyone else is happy as long as my birthday boy is?

And last but not least why do kids grow up so fast?

I cant believe my BABY is going to be 4!

Okay so this is a little prequil to these cute pictures I took today. For those of you who dont know this is Cory, his sweet wifee Candice, and his look alike son Hayes. (they live about five houses down the street from us) Cory is Jared's cousin. He has two brothers, Ian and Micah, who Jared has always been very close with. He thinks of them more as brothers than cousins. If you ever ask Jared about these three he will go on for days with stories of when they were kids. Well Cory was battling cancer for the second time and lost his fight recently. He passed away on April 27 and we were devastated. In fact we still are. I cant go to Candice's blog without crying (but I do anyway) Anyway his little Hayes is only 7 weeks younger than my little Grant. Hayes wasnt around a ton while his daddy was sick, but now that he is back home with his mommy I am hoping that they can be good buddies like their dad's were and make some good memories together.

So we walked up to Hayes' house today to see if he could come down and play. The boys were playing in the backyard with rackets and birdies.

Grant was mad because he wanted to play with the yellow birdie not the pink one. The look on Hayes' face says, "Get over it!" LOL

Hayes decided to use his racket as a golf club and Grant followed suit. Look at that form. He must have gotten that from his dad. (Cory LOVED to golf)

It looks like they are fighting but they are really laughing. It was so cute to see them having fun together!

Hopefully they can laugh together like this more often!

My Boys sleep occassionally

This is just too cute! Neither of my boys sleep very often but it is so cute when they do especially when they do together!

BBQ-FIRE-HOTTUB-CUDDLING

To celebrate Memorial day we had a BBQ at my mom and dad's. But of course it is never JUST a BBQ. We got in the hot tub and then we had dinner (salmon and steak) and lots of other yummy gourmet stuff my mommy cooked. Then we lit a fire and roasted marshmallows and made s'mores.Grant is so proud of himself because this year he is tall enough that he can reach the bottom of the hottub in the very middle!

Grant's very first S'more ever! It looks like he is loving it, but he really didnt like it. He took one bite and then gave it to me and told me to eat it.

He kept hiding under the blanket and he wouldnt leave Maama's side. She was "protecting" him from the fire! He thinks he wants to be a firefighter when he grows up. LOL I told him you cant be a firefighter if you are affraid of fire.

He finally fell asleep on my chest! I totally ate it up, cuddling and kissing him on the forhead. We cuddled in front of the fire for about an hour. A perfect ending to a wonderful day!

Memorial Surprise

My little brother, BJ called me today and asked me if he could come and get me and take

me somewhere? When I asked him where he was going to take me he just told me it was

a surprise. So about a half an hour later he came and got me and we took a very nice scenic

ride to our Oma's grave. It was so sweet of Bj to think of that. We really enjoyed eachothers company and it was just the two of us. We stayed for a little while and just talked. It was

the perfect surprise and I am so glad he thought of it.

My new little man!

This is my new little man. His name is Dax! I started watching him last week and I love it! He is so sweet and such a good baby! It is so much fun having him around. And Grant just loves him too.

He is so smiley and giggly. (is that even a word?)

The first day I had him I was feeding him his bottle and Grant was sitting on the couch next to me and he asked me "mom can I give baby Dax a kiss on the forehead?" It was so cute. Grant is so good with him!

I know some of you are probably thinking, Like mother like daughter. But hey, you do what you enjoy right? Well I enjoy kids and especially babies. And I love having Dax around!

Color Me Mine

We now have a color me mine in Draper and I am so excited. It is expensive fun but it is really fun. I took grant to have a little mommy son time and we really enjoyed it.Grant chose to paint a piggy bank and I did a large bowl. Grant wanted to paint his pig with EVERY color they had. He is so silly. I did my bowl red white and blue.

And this is his masterpiece! Isnt that the cutest piggy bank you have ever seen? I know it is the cutest I have ever seen. But I am bias. Well we had a ton of fun and I would recomend color me mine to anyone who enjoys being creative!

Backyard Boys!

It was Jared's sister, Chelsea's birthday today so we went over to his mom's for dinner. We had soups and salad. The boys like to play basketball out in the back and me and Cassie like to just take pictures of them. Then we had Jell-O cake and ice cream.

We cant wait for summer!

Grant thinks he needs to be outside 24 hours a day! What fun we have though! I love to go out and sit on the covered patio and read a book or just watch while he runs through the sprinklers or just plays his little heart out!His favorite things to do are ride his bike and play baseball. I cant believe how quickly he is growing up. He can not wait to go to preschool and he talks about it constantly. He keeps telling me, "dont worry mom I will learn that at preschool." Like the other day he told me he would learn to ride a 2 wheel bike at preschool. and he told me they are going to teach him to make banana bread at preschool. He is so funny. He is also so incredibly sweet. He loves to cuddle and he loves hugs and kisses, he loves to hold mom's hand. He always tells me how much he loves me. He is deffinitely mommy's sweetheart. He is also quite a show off and can be a little sarcastic. He has got a great sense of humor. He loves to tell jokes and riddles. I could go on for days, I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this kid!!!

Well Grant's birthday is coming up in a few weeks. He will be 4! My baby is not so much a baby anymore! I am the mom who has to do a theme for every birthdayso, I asked him what kind of party he wanted to have this year. He said he wants a baseball party, but not just baseball. He wants a BEES baseball party. I am not exactly sure how I am going to pull that one off but I am deffinitely up for the challenge. He just cracks me up.

Ever since Grant was tiny he has just loved baseball!!!

So emotional...

I am so emotional lately. There have been more than plenty of emotions to go around but ever since Cory passed away I cannot go a day with breaking down and sobbing. I know my son must think I am nuts. I cry when I am happy or sad or angry or if someone looks at me wrong.

Maybe I am NUTS!

Sprinkler fun!

Today when Jared got home from work he turned the sprinklers on for the first time this year. Of course Grant was right out there with him wanting to help. He was kind of getting in his way so I suggested that he go run through the sprinklers. lol I really didnt think he would do it and I was totally kidding. After a little hesitation he decided it was a great idea and no sooner could I say no, he was soaked. I thought to myself "what is it hurting" he got wet and eventually he got cold but he had so much fun doing it. What an amazing kid he is.

Life has been really crazy, emotional, depressing, and exhausting lately so we decided to try to take our minds off of things for a minute. And let me tell ya we had a lot of fun trying but ultimately it didn't work. That's ok though we had fun together in the process and I think that is what counts.

Yes that is my kid and my hubby running down the hall in the hotel at 10:30 pm! If you know me at all you know this is just unheard of. I guess I am a little bit of a control freak! who knew?

And at the soda/snack machines. It is late at this point!

They didn't have Coke for daddy upstairs so we had to take the elevator down to go get one! Can you tell how freaking excited he was to push the button? Its the small things that bring kids joy!

He finally passed out at about 11:30. You cant tell from this picture but he has his arm in the pillow case.

Like I said we had a lot of fun. I guess the lesson to be learned is have fun with the ones you love while you can and you can take a break from your problems for a minute but they will be right there waiting when you get back!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Isn't she cute? i swear she lives for us. me and brock and especially for grant! WOW! she is amazing!

Well it's Friday. It's my mommy's birthday today. Happy birthday Mom! We are going to Goodwood for dinner. That should be fun! my mom is such a huge part of my life. she is so amazing and i look up to her so much. she is one of my best friends.

After dinner we will be going straight to Cory's viewing and I dont even know what to say about that. I am not looking forward to it because my heart is so broken over the whole situation. Cory was such an amazing person and so is Candace. I just cannot even imagine the pain she is going through along with Cory's family. My thoughts and prayers have been centered around them for so long now and I just wish there was more that I could do. The funeral is tomorrow and I know that will be really hard for everyone. the one thing that does make me happy is to know that Cory is free from all the horrible pain he was in. for that i am so grateful.
