36 weeks doc appt.

Well Doc was out of the office today, so I saw his nurse. She was old and very knowledgable. She has been a L&D nurse for almost 40 years. WOW! I liked her. Anyway, she did a group B strep test, so we are waiting on the results for that. She also did an internal exam. I am 50% effaced and 2cm dilated. Blah... I wish there was more progress. I told Jared we need to have more sex! Here is the kicker for me, he has NOT dropped. When I was in 2 weeks ago and even before that doc said that I was in so much pain because baby had dropped. WTF?? So I asked the nurse, if the baby hasnt dropped why am I in so much pain? She says his head is definitely nestled right in my pelvic bone, but when he does drop the pain will most likely get much worse. Again WTF?? My chin dropped when she said that. I dont really understand how it can get much worse. And when he does drop does that mean he will be putting even more pressure on my sciatic nerve? Well at that point I am pretty sure I will be bed ridden until the little stinker comes out. This next 4 weeks or so is going to go so slow.

Maternity pictures!

Ok here they are! Let me apologize in advance for being so incredibly fat. Maybe after I have Grayson I will go on a diet, but for now I am content so dont rain on my parade! On to the pictures! I am so pleased with them!

I love these pictures! I love my boys! And I love Kristen for being such a great friend and an amazing photographer!

Getting ready for Grayson!

When I got home from the shower today I threw everything that needed to be washed in the washer and went to take a nap! LOL I was tired and in a lot of pain. When everything was all done washing and drying I was so excited to dress the crib! I know I am a little rediculous, but it has been a long time coming. I love it! I think it looks so cute and I am planning on getting the cute little decals that go on the wall too, so that the walls arent so boring and dull! So here is the crib all put together!

This is the awesome quilt Sara's mom made me!
It's got really soft "minky" fabric on the back.
And this is where she quilted his name into it!

Baby Shower

I am so mad that this picture didnt turn out better. Sara did an amazing job with all the decorations and everything for the shower! Seriously everything was so cute and perfect! She is trully the best friend ever! I just love her to peices! Sara thank you so much for putting so much time and effort and love into every little detail! You really are the Hostess with the Mostest!!

Cute "My Auntie is Awesome" shirt from my Aunt Susie!

I dont know if you can tell by this picture or not, but as soon as I put my hand in the gift bag and felt the fabric I knew what it was. I had been dropping hints to Sara that I would love it if her mom made me a quilt like Ollie and Zoey's. Sara picked out the adorable fabric! And her mom made it! She even quilted Grayson's name into it! This is something I will cherrish forever! Thanks so much Jen!
I really hesitated putting these pictures on here because I dont look pregnant. I am just fat. But oh well, I am beyond caring! :)
My sweet little love bug loves Sara's little Zoey! He loves baby's in general and I know he is going to be an awesome big brother!
And how could I forget Grant and his buddy Ollie!!

Thank you so much to Sara and her mom Jen and of course to my mommy too!
And thank you to all who came!
It was a great day!

New fave in our house

Have you ever looked at the ingredients and nutritional facts on a lunchable?? Well I hadnt until not too long ago. Let's just say they are not good for you. Personally, I like meat and cheese and crackers stacked together like a little sandwich, so I decided to just make my own lunchables and it is so easy. So this is our new favorite lunch or snack around here. Grant loves to take it in his lunch. So first I just cut up some cheese (we like colby jack) into cracker sized pieces. Then I just used presliced, prepackaged lunch meat (we prefer turkey) Just cut them in half and then in half again and they are the perfect size. But the best part, we think, are the crackers. We use Wheat Thins Fiber Selects in the Garden Vegetable flavor. They are so yummy! For Grant's lunch I put the meat and cheese in a small tupper ware and put the crackers in a ziploc bag. I also cut up extra and put it in the fridge. It makes a great lunch for me as well! You could put so many twists on this, the possibilities are endless.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)

So I am thinking it is possible I might have this.

Although it appears to be a firmly fixed circle of bone, the pelvis is actually four separate bones jointed together - the sacrum and coccyx at the back and at the sides the two hip bones which curve around to meet at the front. These are joined at the front by the symphysis pubis.

"In pregnancy the hormone relaxin is released to soften the joints in preparation for the birth of your baby, but in around one in 35 women the hormone causes the ligaments to soften and stretch too much and become painful," says Ann Johnson, superintendent physiotherapist in women's health at Leeds General Infirmary.
It is normal for there to be a gap of 4-5mm between the two pubic points at the symphysis pubis joint and during any pregnancy this widens by another 2-3mm. If this gap widens more than this pain may occur and in some cases a severe form of the condition called diastasis symphysis pubis is diagnosed.
The job of the symphysis pubis joint is to hold the pelvis steady when we're using our legs, and if the ligaments have softened or stretched too much it won't work properly and strain is put on the other pelvic joints, causing pain.
The main symptoms are pain in your pubic area, groin, the inside of your thighs and sometimes in your lower back and hips. "The pain is worse when you walk or move and climbing stairs is especially painful. Getting in and out of the car or turning in bed is also painful," says Ann Johnson. You might hear a clicking sound when you walk and feel as though the bones are grinding together. Opening your legs is difficult and painful.

All I know is I am in constant pain, and sometimes it is just excruciating. I dont know how much longer I can take this.

First day of school 2010

Grant has been pretty nervous about starting school. We went to meet with his teacher on Monday and I think that helped a ton with his anxiety about it. So Tuesday morning we got up a little early so that he didnt have to be rushed. It was nice because after we were all ready to go we had a little time to cuddle and just talk. When Grant gets anxiety about things he doesnt breathe very well so it was nice to take a minute for some down time. He will be riding the bus again this year but I wanted to take him for his first day. By the time we got to the school he was really excited to see his friends he hadnt seen all summer and he had a huge smile on his face! We took some pictures and got in line to wait for his teacher to come out to get the kids. As he was standing in line chatting with all his friends from Kindergarten, he turned to me and said "Mom, first grade is great!" That made me so happy I almost cried. It was like it had only been a weekend since he had seen them last and he didnt skip a beat. When his teacher came out to get them, he turned to me with a huge smile and gave me the I LOVE YOU sign that we always do. As I watched my little man walk into first grade with such confidence it made me so proud. Grant is such an amazing child. I know he will have a great year and he will love first grade!!

Here is a picture of him on the first day last year
And here he is this year!!

All ready to go in and start his first day!!

35 weeks

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

My uterus is definitely growing up under my ribs now. When I sit down I can really feel it under my ribs and it is very uncomfortable. I also have a ton of pain in my pelvis and it hurts to walk. I feel like I have a cantaloupe just sitting in my pelvis, right on top of my bladder. Grayson is getting so strong. I dont remember Grant ever kicking so hard and with such force. Sometimes he really hurts me. Although I hate Grant being back to school and I miss him, I am getting a lot done around the house so that it is ready for Grayson to come home to. And it will be half way presentable for visitors to BRING MEALS after he is born. LOL
Jared and I keep commenting to eachother how different and weird it will be to have a new baby in the house after so long. We are all very excited for him to arrive though. 5 weeks or less and we will be bringing our little sweetheart home!! 5 weeks seems so soon but then again it seems like forever. We just cant wait!!
