14 weeks

I made Grant take a picture of me one day, and when Jared got home and saw it all he could do was laugh. So if you are sitting in front of your computer right now laughing, dont worry my husband did too! I really just wanted to document the tiny bit that I am showing right now.

Your baby is 3.4 inches long by pregnancy week 14, and likely weighs close to 1.5 ounces! About the size of an average fist! Every day of your pregnancy week by week, your baby is growing more and more proportional.
By pregnancy 14 weeks, your baby's body is growing quite rapidly. His length is catching up with his slightly larger head. The ears have started their move to the sides of the head, and the eyes continue to get closer and closer together.
During pregnancy week 14, your baby's neck will elongate, and the chin will start to rise up off the chest. Your baby's reflexes will also continue to develop this week. By now, your baby should be receiving his or her nutrition directly from the placenta.
I am still bleeding a little every couple of days, which means that the hemorrhage has not healed itself like I had hoped that it would. The doctor did warn us that I would probably have this problem throughout the entire pregnancy, and it will most likely get worse in the third trimester as the baby gets bigger and bigger. We are still very hopeful, though it is never far from my mind. The best thing is I have started feeling the baby occasionally! I have to lay down to feel her, but it is the most amazing feeling ever. There was a point when I thought I would never again feel a baby inside of me. Last Saturday night was the first time I felt her and I cried. It is just an incredible, undescribable feeling! And I feel so blessed!
For the last 2-3 months or so I have been having these horrible headaches that I cant seem to get rid of. Lately they have gotten worse and I am about at my witts end. They arent just headaches anymore they have become unbearable, debilitating migraines. When they get bad I truly can not function. My husband works and I have a sweet little boy that I need to take care of. I cant just go to bed. There have been a couple of days that I have had to call Jared and ask him to come home from work, so that he can take care of Grant while I try to deal with it. It may seem extreme but I have never had so much pain in my life and I have tried everything. Other than that, I am doing great and I am so happy right now! I feel so blessed and greatful for this amazing little being growing inside of me!!!

Since your pregnancy has gotten more complicated than expected are you still able to be under the primary care of your midwife?

Yes I could be if I wanted to be. But we had a few issues with the midwife, for instance she failed to tell us in the beginning that she only works Tuesday through Thursday. And even when she is in the office she is impossible to get a hold of. Her nor her assistant would ever return my phone calls. I decided with the problems I am having that it would just be better to go back to my OB who I have known forever and I trust. Plus he works five days a week and is on call every weekend, so I can get a hold of him anytime I might need him. Also his nurse is awesome and always returns my phone calls very quickly! Its just better for us all around.

Did you ever talk to the nurse about getting anything for your migraines? I know you are against that kind of stuff, but I do know what you are going through and is it HORRIBLE!! The prescription she gave me seriously saved my life!! I hope they stop soon.
