So I mentioned in my last little update that my father in law, Craig, is getting married in April. And I also mentioned that we were all a little shocked... Well that's not to say that we aren't happy for him. When I say WE I mean Jared and I. The rest of Craig's kids and family have their own opinions, some good and some not so good. We were just shocked because a lot of us thought that Craig might never get married again. It has been (I think) 17 or so years since he was divorced from Jared's mom. And the other reason we were a bit shocked is that he hasn't known her long and we had never even met her.
So we met her at Christmas time and have seen her a couple of other times since and I got a good feeling about her. Last week she called Jared and invited us over to her place for dinner. I was cautiously anticipating it, not really knowing what to expect. And I must say we had a GREAT time. We went over last night and all day yesterday Grant was so excited he kept asking me, "Is it time to go to Christine's yet?" She is a great cook and a wonderful hostess. We were lucky enough to meet her 18 year old son Chris and I really like him. Grant even asked if he could call him Uncle Chris. So CUTE! While us adults sat around the table talking and laughing, Chris took Grant in the living room and watched the X games with him. Grant got a kick out of it and they sat there yelling at the TV together.
I know that some people in the family have some reservations about the whole idea of Craig and Christine getting married, and I do think that some of those reservations are very valid, but I feel that Jared and I are ready to welcome Christine into the family with open arms!

what a nice post about your dad and Christine. I think she's really nice too. I do understand that the kids have valid concerns...I'm just excited for Craig to have that happiness.
