So ever since Grant was born he has had problems with his nose. It is always FULL of boogers. I dont mean a little, I mean most days he just cant breath out his nose because absolutely no air can get through. I can not stand it because he talks so funny and it drives me crazy. I know it drives him crazy too. Everyday I have to pick his nose several times a day and he hates it. Wouldnt you hate your mom picking your nose several times a day? I feel so bad for him. I have been meaning to take him to the doctor for a while now and I have just been putting it off. I am kind of afraid of what they might tell me.
Well about a month ago I started noticing that he was having to stop and take big deep breaths every once in a while. Almost like he just wasnt getting enough air into his little lungs or something. At first I didnt think much of it, but it has progressively gotten worse. He is to the point where he is having to take a big deep breath about every 30 seconds. I dont know what to think, the first thing that came to my mind was asthma but I dont know anything about asthma?? I dont think these two problems are related but I could be wrong.
I made Jared call the pediatrician today and he explained to him what was going on. The ped. said that he didnt even want to see him because he needs to see a specialist. So we have an appointment on Wednesday with the specialist and I am a little nervous about it. I am just hoping that it is not too big of a deal and we can easily take care of it or treat it.
Wish us luck!

Good Luck ..poor guy. I will be waiting to hear from you for the results.
That sucks! I hope everything goes well!
Oh, poor Grant! And poor Mommy! I know how scary that can be when the doctor doesn't just say it's no big deal and sends you to a specialist! It sounds like asthma to me, though I don't know. All I know about asthma is from John who had asthma as a kid (and we watch Alex closely for asthma symptoms because asthma and eczema apparently go hand in hand, which is weird if you ask me). If it is asthma, it probably isn't related to the booger issue because it's a lung problem. Alex has a nose full of boogers ALL THE TIME! I've taken him in when it gets too bad and they tell me he's got sinus infections, something he's probably just prone to because once his antibiotics are over, the boogers come back
have you heard any wheezing sounds coming from his chest? Does he start getting short of breath when he's running around and not just normal short of breath but does it seem like he's getting winded quicker than he should be? I don't know if Jared mentioned to you that I have had asthma since the day I was born and pretty severe too. During inversions I have to limit my time spent outside, I get asthma attacks from walking upstairs. So if it is asthma at least you will have a family member to turn to who has been through it ALL!
Good luck Lauri! I hope all goes well with little Grant. Keep us updated!
