Strange is the only word I can use to describe my sons sleeping habits. For example:
* He has to flip his pillow over every minute or two until he falls asleep.
* He has to have a pillow with a pillow case. If he is sleeping on the couch or something he can not sleep on a throw pillow because it doesn't have a pillow case.
* He has to play with the pillow case. Which is most likely why he insists on having one. It is hard to explain unless you have seen him do it but he puts his hand in the pillow case or wraps it around his finger in a certain way. He has done this since I can remember.
* He walks in his sleep. Almost EVERY single night. Sometimes it is hilarious and sometimes not so safe. I've got stories!
* He talks in his sleep EVERY single night without fail. I can have a full on conversation with him while he is asleep. Some of the things he says in his sleep just blow me away! I will have fun with that as he gets older.
* He can get up, go in the bathroom, get on the toilet, go pee, pull up his pants, and get back to bed all by himself, all while asleep. Usually he needs assistance but I have seen him do it by himself. Very talented kid, he is! I can always tell if he is actually awake or if he is sleep walking.
* On top of all of this he also has horrible night terrors, but that we will save for another post.

My girlfriends were talking about kids night terrors/bad dreams. One said if you talk with the child perhaps in the afternoon about this, not before bed. Tell them if they find they are having a bad dream to look for a stick and pick it up and break it in half, it might help them come out of it and wake up. She thinks it is worth a try and so do I.
